Queen walk is one of the most important war skills, starting at Town Hall 9 and going up to Town Hall 11. While this guide could be for any TH, it is mostly centered on TH11! I’ll explain how to do the perfect queen walk to incorporate into your war attack, whether it be GoBo or LavaLoonion.

How Many Healers and Spells?

So at the basis, a queen walk is an archer queen being healed by a certain number of healers. You want to bring enough healers to successfully heal up your AQ and keep her on full health, but not too many that it takes away from your real army attack or sets off the eagle artillery too early. Also should you bring spells to help your queen stay alive and let your healers heal faster?

Personally, I think that 6 healers is the perfect amount. It is way under half of your army space, but 6 gives enough healing power to keep your queen at full health, even if a few go down. Also, I would recommend bringing a rage spell to help your archer queen get through the opposing clan castle troops without taking too much damage. The rage will also help your healers heal quicker.

Plan your Entrance Point

For every queen walk, you need to plan it out extremely well. If you are off by even a little bit, your whole attack can go askew. First, you want to decide where the bulk of your attack will come from. For this attack simulation, we will be attacking from the right corner of the base.

So for the queen walk section of the attack, we don’t want to attack exactly from the right since that is where the real force of our strategy will be coming in. Instead, we want to try and clear a side of the base of as many defenses and surrounding buildings as we can, as well as lure and kill the opposing CC. You eventually want to have your queen join up with your main attack, so pathing is important to success. Let’s attack from the bottom of the base, and work our way towards the right side.

Attacking from this point in the base will allow the CC to be killed, along with clear any buildings to prevent our golems from heading anywhere but up or left. It will also let us get a whole bunch of percentage points due to the cluster of resource and army buildings.

Clear a Path for your Queen

Before you send in your queen to prevent distraction, you have to try to stop your queen from being distracted by outside buildings. Build the path, so that she will head towards where you want her to go. For this attack, we want to clear away any buildings to the left of the bottom, that way it ensures that your AQ goes right instead of left.

The best troop to clear outside buildings is the baby dragon. With the rage effect, the baby dragon can do a ton of work and clear the buildings that need to be cleared to path your AQ correctly.

Queen Placement

Once your baby dragon goes down and has cleared as many buildings as possible, it’s time to set up your archer queen. Obviously, you don’t want to place it too far over so that she goes the wrong way, but you don’t want to place it too far to the other side so that she leaves some buildings untouched.

In this attack, the queen placement is perfect. She is locked onto the gold storage, but afterwards she will turn to the left gold mine. Once she finishes off the gold mine, she will have nowhere to turn but right and towards the entry point for the meat of your attack. That shows the purpose of clearing buildings; she now has a clear path to follow.

Healers in Behind

Of course, your queen isn’t going to be able to destroy all these buildings plus the CC troops by herself. No, right after the queen goes down, you need to play in healers right behind her. Don’t place the healers on top of the queen; rather place them as far back as possible so that they aren’t going to be targeted by any wizard towers or air defense.

With the healers played like this, they will follow the queen throughout her walk and stay far enough back so that they won’t be shot by any air defense before the AQ is able to take them out.

Spells: Poison and/or Rage for CC

So you should always bring at least one spell in a queen walk and that is the poison spell. A poison spell should be brought in any war attack, since it helps slow down and kill the defending clan castle troops. Drop the spell when the CC troops are going to end up, not where they were heading toward your queen.

Along with the poison, a rage spell is often a smart option for these queen walks. Depending on what is in the defending CC, chances are it has a lot of firepower. A rage spell will help the queen attack faster, along with help the healers replenish her health faster so that you don’t have to use the invisibility cloak yet.

Queen’s Invisibility Cloak

While you don’t want to have to use the queen’s ability on the CC kill, you probably are going to have to use it at some point during the walk. With the queen being basically the only unit in the raid so far, all available defenses will be targeting her and your healers won’t be able to keep up.

When you do eventually hit the invis cloak, you want to be certain of a few things since you do only get one special ability. First off, a bunch of defenses should be targeting her so that when you use it, they will all be reset. Also, you want to be sure that the healers aren’t able to keep up with the heal. If they are able to keep up with the defenses, then there is no reason to use the cloak. The cloak provides a few seconds for retargeting and healer catchup.

Begin your Attack with Queen Support

Lastly, when your queen finally makes it over to the spot where you want to attack, you should begin your main offensive. Timing is critical because you want your new troops to tank for the queen, along with the AQ providing a bit of external damage. Your whole goal is to have your queen alive for the entire three star attack!
