Clash Royale Balance Changes Update 1/24

Balance Changes Nerfs

Three of the best cards in Clash Royale are being nerfed, though the mega knight isn’t one of them. First off, the royal ghost is being hit on 3 fronts, with its damage, invisibility, and hit speed all being toned down. Bats, one of the strongest support cards in Clash Royale, are also being nerfed with a slight decrease in their hit speed. Finally, we see the goblin hut essentially get one less spear goblin spawn from its duration. All in all, not too bad!

Balance Changes Buffs

As predicted, zappies are the first card to see a buff, as they can now shoot both ground and air units. Honestly, I don’t see the point in this, as it makes them too much like the electro-wizard. The night witch also received a small bat nerf as she will spawn her first bats a bit quicker now. Another card that was claiming a buff was the lava hound with a small HP buff to bring it up to speed with tankier ground units. Finally, both the mini-PEKKA and lumberjack received identical buffs with a 7% increase to their HP.

Balance Changes Reworks

Two cards also receives reworks that can’t be classified as buffs or nerfs. The first of these was the hunter which now has a shorter range (a nerf), but the bullets will now be closer together, dealing more damage (a buff). It will be fun to see where this rework puts him in the Clash Royale meta. Also, the mortar’s minimum range was decreased, which could be seen as a buff or a nerf. It will now be able to hit more units, especially close up, but it is also less likely to lock onto the tower.

That’s all for the balance changes in this Clash Royale January update. We definitely needed these changes and I can’t wait to see what direction the meta takes now. Thanks for reading and comment below your impressions of these balances!
