The meta is always changing within Clash Royale and for the 22nd time, we have the new best deck within Clash Royale! This deck is a hog tornado deck, centered around getting the hog to the tower to land a few hits. Here is some gameplay and strategy around the best deck in Clash Royale right now, a hog tornado deck!
Hog Tornado Deck Overview
Within this deck, unlike all the other meta decks, you only have ONE win condition, which is the hog rider. You need to attempt to get the hog rider to the tower as much as possible, since every hit is critical to the success of the battle. Ideally, you want to cycle the hog at least 6 times throughout the entire game, trying to get 2-3 shots each rotation. You can combine the hog rider with the ice spirit for just one elixir more, which will give you a extra two seconds because of the freeze effect. The ice spirit is also great because it will reset the inferno dragon, acting as a cheaper AND longer lasting zap. As an added bonus, the ice spirit is great on defense, being a one elixir counter that can slow down entire pushes.
There are three great support cards in this hog tornado deck, all right at the very top of the current meta. First off, we have the knight, which is arguably the strongest and most worth card in all of Clash Royale! The knight is going to be able to counter many 5 elixir cards, as well as be a great tank to start your defense against large pushes. Don’t play him on offense though! For offense, we have the goblins, which are a great 2 elixir card to combine with the hog on a small push. If you want to go a bit bigger, you can play the musketeer, which will provide stronger support. Both goblins and musketeer are fantastic on defense too!
Let’s go ahead and discuss the three spells in this deck, the fireball, zap, and most importantly the tornado! The fireball is going to act as your big damage spell that you want to try and hit the tower with. Use the fireball to damage wizards, e-wizs, and musketeers that are played too close to an arena tower! The zap is going to act as your main offensive spell, being able to kill skeleton army and bats by itself, and with the help of the ice spirit, able to kill minions and goblin gang. Finally, we have the tornado which is a solid defensive and offensive spell. On offense, you can use it to ward off anything played to counter your hog. On defense, you can play the tornado so that it pulls troops to activate your king’s tower!
Chip Damage with the Hog
As mentioned above, the hog rider is going to be your only real way to get damage on the tower. You should play the hog basically every time that it comes back into your hand, using it to out cycle defenses in your opponent’s hand. There are two ways to play the hog rider, by itself, or backed by some support units.
When you play the hog unsupported, it should only be when you think you have a substantial elixir advantage over your opponent and they won’t have enough elixir to counter your four elixir hog. However, if your opponent and you have equal elixir, it is probably a good idea to combine your hog with some support cards, so that you can destroy your opponent’s defensive troops.
What Support Units Should be with the Hog?
I just mentioned that you can combine your hog rider with support cards to help aid the hog in the push towards the tower. But what support units should that be? Well, there are two different pushes that I would do when you are rocking this hog-tornado deck (with the exception of the ice spirit+hog). Primarily, when you want to get in a quick push, but want some support units to be with your hog, I would recommend going with the hog goblins push.
This combination only costs 6 elixir and can completely take out a tower if it is left uncountered. The goblins provide you with a cheap support card that can ward off a lot of different ground units. They will also do a ton of damage if they are able to make it to the tower! However, if you really want a lot of support on your hog, the best combination is to combine the hog rider and musketeer.
The advantage with the musketeer is that she will be tankier, deal more damage, and most importantly, take out air units. When you pair hog and musketeer, mega minion, minions, and wizard will all be shut down. As an extra plus, she will do a lot more damage than the goblins if she is able to lock onto the arena tower. Both pushes are great and your preference of one over the other should depend upon how much elixir you have.
Fireball Chip Damage
While you will be primarily relying on the hog to get damage, the fireball isn’t a bad way to add on to your total damage. Now, you should just be fireballing the tower alone, but trying to hit medium health units as well as the tower. For example, when a wizard is played behind the king’s tower, you can almost kill him, along with damaging the arena tower if you send a fireball over when he walks by.
A couple fireballs onto the tower will make it a lot more manageable to take down. You also get the added bonus of taking out opposing troops! Try to cycle the fireball onto the arena tower 2-3 times throughout the duration of the battle.
Tornado as a Versatile Spell
Lastly, let’s discuss the tornado as the most versatile card in this entire deck. It can be used on both offense and defense, completely turning the tide of the battle based on how you use it. On offense, you want to play the tornado to drag troops away from the hog rider, giving it the ability to get an extra hit or two onto the tower!
On defense, the tornado can be a lot more valuable though! You can use the tornado to pull incoming units to the king’s tower and activate it, giving you another tower to fight on your side. It really is worth it to activate the king’s tower, even though you are losing HP. For 3 elixir, you can defend against an opposing hog rider or miner, as well as getting that big bonus of the extra gun on defense! Make sure that when you play the tornado, the center is placed near the king’s tower or else it won’t be activated.
And with that, we are going to wrap it up for this week’s edition of the most meta deck in Clash Royale! I hope that you guys enjoyed this article and can use this deck to help you win out there on the ladder. Thanks for reading and comment down below what deck you are currently using in Clash Royale!

My Knight is under leveled, at level 10 in arena 11. Do you think I can use him at level 10?

YES! Knight is one of the strongest so level 10 should be fine as long as you aren’t in Challenger 2+

Sweet! Since my only 3 level 11 commons are Ice Spirit, Zap and Elite Barbarians.

Zap is definitely worth to overlevel since zap will kill 2 levels lower of minions. Your zap can kill level 9 minions/minion horde!
