There have now been two different references to a new football/touchdown gamemode for the Clash Royale October update, meaning that we are definitely going to see something along football related when the update is released. Along with this football gamemode, we will also be seeing a new cards and QUESTS in the update!
New Football Gamemode
The October update is pretty hyped up so we were expecting something pretty big for Clash Royale. The Clash Royale team has now twice referenced football in tweets and in the game itself, showing that we HAVE to be getting this new football gamemode in the upcoming October update!
Clash Royale Update Stream
The first instance that we saw football referenced by the Clash Royale team was in their picture regarding the update stream coming up this Saturday. Here’s the picture that they tweeted out, clearly showing a football helmet!
It has all the stream information, but the most important thing is the football helmet, along with the stands lining the “arena” (good play on words right?). We should be seeing the new gamemode officially unveiled on Saturday, September 30th, so make sure you tune in! I assume that it will be a YouTuber versus YouTuber battle, with them squaring off in the new gamemode!
Flash Royale Football Reference
Today, Clash Royale released a news video, giving us update details, strategy information, and a “barrel of laughs”. The only important thing in it was the update details sections, in which they gave us a number of football images, including this one, which basically confirms that we will be seeing a new gamemode related to football.

So that is really all we have to go on right now for the October 2017 update for Clash Royale. I’m really hoping that it lives up the hype and the Clash Royale team delivers us a killer update. Personally, I like how the elite barbs get switched up in this mode. I wouldn’t say I like the new one MORE, but I like it more in the gamemode if that makes sense!
