New balance changes are here in Clash Royale, with a buff coming to cards like the heal and the goblin giant and nerfs coming for the freeze and barbarian hut. This balancing update will be released January 7th, 2019 in Clash Royale, with 10 different nerfs and buffs coming. Here are all the balance changes coming to the January 2019 balancing update to Clash Royale!
As always, nerfs will be listed in red, while buffs are in blue.
- Heal: Elixir Cost decreased 3 -> 1, Duration Reduced 2.5 -> 2, Healing/sec -63%
- Magic Archer: First Attack faster
- Goblin Giant: Hitpoints +3%, Spear Goblin Range Increased
- Golem: Golemite Death Damage Pushback reduced
- Freeze: Tower Damage -65%
- Sparky: Range Increased 4.5 -> 4.75
- Battle Ram: Charge Damage -11%
- Barbarian Hut: Hitpoints -7%
- Barbarian Barrel: Deploy Time reduced
- Valkyrie: Hit Speed increased 1.6 -> 1.5
Balance Changes Nerfs
There are 5 big nerfs coming in the January balance changes, most noticeably to the battle ram and freeze, two of the strongest cards in Clash Royale at the moment. The freeze will no longer do nearly as much tower damage, while the battle ram’s charge damage is getting a huge nerf at a 11% decrease. Also, the barbarian barrel is getting nerfed again, after remaining strong, with a deploy time increase.
One of the biggest HP cards in Clash Royale, the barbarian hut, which is super annoying to play against, will luckily getting its HP knocked down a touch, with a 7% decrease. And, the final nerf in these balance changes, is a decrease in golemite push back damage, which shouldn’t result in a huge meta swing.
Balance Changes Buffs
Two of the weakest cards in Clash Royale were finally buffed, in sparky and the heal. The heal definitely has one of the most interesting and game changing buffs in these changes, reducing its cost to 1 elixir but also decreasing duration by a half second and severely killing the heal power. Also, sparky gets a slight buff with another 1/4 tile range to be able to shoot from.
One of the worst nerfs ever in Clash Royale is being reverted, with the magic archer finally getting a faster first attack once again. Also, valkyrie is receiving a hit speed increase for no apparent reason, and goblin giant gets a slight nerf with more HP and a longer spear goblins range!

No, because this is definitely a buff, despite the nerfs to some of its stats

The Magic Archer nerf actually wasn’t completely reverted, it’s actually making it faster than it is right now, but not as fast as it used to be
